דְּרוֹר יִקְרָא לְבֵן עִם בַּת, וְיִנְצָרְכֶם כְּמוֹ בָבַת, נְעִים שִׁמְכֶם וְלֹא יֻשְׁבַּת, שְׁבוּ וְנֽוּחוּ בְּיוֹם שַׁבָּת׃

dĕror yiqraʾ lĕven 'īm bath, wĕyinṣarĕkhem kĕmo vavath, nĕ'im shimkhem wĕloʾ yushbath, shĕvu wĕnuḥu bĕyom shabbath

He will proclaim freedom for son and daughter, and guard you as the pupil of an eye; your pleasant name shall never cease — rest and find repose on the Sabbath day.

דְּרוֹשׁ נָוִי וְאוּלָמִי, וְאוֹת יֶֽשַׁע עֲשֵׂה עִמִּי, נְטַע שׂוֹרֵק בְּתוֹךְ כַּרְמִי, שְׁעֵה שַׁוְעַת בְּנֵי עַמִּי׃

dĕrosh nawi wĕʾulami, wĕʾoth yesha' 'ăseh 'immi, nĕṭa' soreq bĕthokh karmi, shĕ'eh shaw'ath bĕne 'ammi

Seek out my dwelling and my hall, and show me a sign of salvation; plant a choice vine within my vineyard, and heed the cry of my people's children.

דְּרוֹךְ פּוּרָה בְּתוֹךְ בָּצְרָה, וְגַם בָּבֶל אֲשֶׁר גָּבְרָה, נְתוֹץ צָרַי בְּאַף וְעֶבְרָה, שְׁמַע קוֹלִי בְּיוֹם אֶקְרָא׃

dĕrokh pura bĕthokh baṣĕra, wĕgham bavel ʾăsher gavĕra, nĕthoṣ ṣaray bĕʾaf wĕ'evra, shĕma' qoli bĕyom ʾeqraʾ

Tread the winepress in Bozrah, and Babylon too, which has grown mighty; tear down my foes in anger and fury; hear my voice on the day I call.

אֱלֹהִים תֵּן בַּמִּדְבָּר הַר, הֲדַס שִׁטָּה בְּרוֹשׁ תִּדְהָר, וְלַמַּזְהִיר וְלַנִּזְהָר, שְׁלוֹמִים תֵּן כְּמֵי נָהָר׃

ʾĕlohim ten bammidhbar har, hădhas shiṭṭa bĕrosh tidhhar, wĕlammazhir wĕlannizhar, shĕlomim ten kĕme nahar

God, set in the wilderness a mountain of myrtle, acacia, cypress, and elm; and to teacher and taught alike grant peace flowing like a river.

הֲדוֹךְ קָמַי אֵל קַנָּא, בְּמוֹג לֵבָב וּבַמְּגִנָּה, וְנַרְחִיב פֶּה וּנְמַלֶּֽאנָה, לְשׁוֹנֵנוּ לְךָ רִנָּה׃

hădhokh qamay ʾel qannaʾ, bĕmogh levav uvammĕghinna, wĕnarḥiv peh unĕmalleʾna, lĕshonenu lĕkha rinna

Crush those who rise against me, O zealous God, with faintness of heart and with terror; then we will open our mouths wide and fill our tongues with song for You.

דְּעֵה חָכְמָה לְנַפְשֶֽׁךָ, וְהִיא כֶֽתֶר לְרֹאשֶֽׁךָ, נְצוֹר מִצְוַת קְדוֹשֶֽׁךָ, שְׁמוֹר שַׁבַּת קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃

dĕ'eh ḥokhma lĕnafshekha, wĕhiʾ khether lĕroʾshekha, nĕṣor miṣwath qĕdhoshekha, shĕmor shabbath qodhshekha

Know wisdom for your soul, for it is a crown for your head; keep the commandment of your Holy One, and guard His holy Sabbath.

כִּי אֶשְׁמְרָה שַׁבָּת אֵל יִשְׁמְרֵֽנִי, אוֹת הִיא לְעֽוֹלְמֵי עַד בֵּינוֹ וּבֵינִי׃

ki ʾeshmĕra shabbath ʾel yishmĕreni, ʾoth hiʾ lĕ'olĕme 'adh beno uveni

For I will keep the Sabbath, God will keep me — it is a sign forever between Him and me.

אָסוּר מְצֹא חֵֽפֶץ עֲשׂוֹת דְּרָכִים, גַּם מִלְּדַבֵּר בּוֹ דִּבְרֵי צְרָכִים, דִּבְרֵי סְחוֹרָה אַף דִּבְרֵי מְלָכִים, אֶהְגֶּה בְּתוֹרַת אֵל וּתְחַכְּמֵנִי׃ אוֹת הִיא לְעֽוֹלְמֵי עַד בֵּינוֹ וּבֵינִי׃

ʾasur mĕṣoʾ ḥefeṣ 'ăsoth dĕrakhim, gam millĕdhabber bo divre ṣĕrakhim, divre sĕḥora ʾaf divre mĕlakhim, ʾehgeh bĕthorath ʾel uthĕḥakkĕmeni ʾoth hiʾ lĕ'olĕme 'adh beno uveni

It is forbidden to seek to run errands, or even to speak of one's needs on it — matters of trade or affairs of state; I will meditate on God's Torah, and it will make me wise. It is a sign forever between Him and me.

בּוֹ אֶמְצָא תָמִיד נֹֽפֶשׁ לְנַפְשִׁי, הִנֵּה לְדוֹר רִאשׁוֹן נָתַן קְדוֹשִׁי, מוֹפֵת בְּתֵת לֶֽחֶם מִשְׁנֶה בַּשִּׁשִּׁי, כָּֽכָה בְּכָל שִׁשִּׁי יַכְפִּיל מְזוֹנִי׃ אוֹת הִיא לְעֽוֹלְמֵי עַד בֵּינוֹ וּבֵינִי׃

bo ʾemṣaʾ thamidh nofesh lĕnafshi, hinneh lĕdhor riʾshon nathan qĕdhoshi, mofeth bĕtheth leḥem mishneh bashshishshi, kakha bĕkhol shishshi yakhpil mĕzoni ʾoth hiʾ lĕ'olĕme 'adh beno uveni

In it I always find rest for my soul; behold, to the first generation my Holy One gave a wonder — a double portion of bread on the sixth day; so too each sixth day He doubles my sustenance. It is a sign forever between Him and me.

רָשׁוּם בְּדַת הָאֵל חֹק אֶל סְגָנָיו, בּוֹ לַעֲרֹךְ לֶֽחֶם פָּנִים בְּפָנָיו, עַל כֵּן לְהִתְעַנּוֹת בּוֹ עַל פִּי נְבוֹנָיו אָסוּר לְבַד מִיּוֹם כִּפּוּר עֲוֹנִי׃ אוֹת הִיא לְעֽוֹלְמֵי עַד בֵּינוֹ וּבֵינִי׃

rashum bĕdhath haʾel ḥoq ʾel sĕghanayw, bo la'ărokh leḥem panim bĕfanayw, 'al ken lĕhith'annoth bo 'al pi nĕvonayw ʾasur lĕvadh miyyom kippur 'ăwoni ʾoth hiʾ lĕ'olĕme 'adh beno uveni

Inscribed in God's law is a statute for His ministers, to arrange the showbread before Him on it; therefore, by the counsel of the wise, fasting on it is forbidden — except for the Day of Atonement for my sin. It is a sign forever between Him and me.

הוּא יוֹם מְכֻבָּד הוּא יוֹם תַּעֲנוּגִים, לֶֽחֶם וְיַֽיִן טוֹב בָּשָׂר וְדָגִים, הַמִּתְאַבְּלִים בּוֹ אָחוֹר נְסוֹגִים, כִּי יוֹם שְׂמָחוֹת הוּא וּתְשַׂמְּחֵנִי׃ אוֹת הִיא לְעֽוֹלְמֵי עַד בֵּינוֹ וּבֵינִי׃

huʾ yom mĕkhubbadh huʾ yom ta'ănughim, leḥem wĕyayīn ṭov basar wĕdhaghim, hammithʾabbĕlim bo ʾaḥor nĕsoghim, ki yom sĕmaḥoth huʾ uthĕsammĕḥeni ʾoth hiʾ lĕ'olĕme 'adh beno uveni

It is a day of honor, a day of delights — bread and good wine, meat and fish; those who mourn on it are turned back, for it is a day of joy, and it gladdens me. It is a sign forever between Him and me.

מֵחֵל מְלָאכָה בּוֹ סוֹפוֹ לְהַכְרִית, עַל כֵּן אֲכַבֶּס בּוֹ לִבִּי כְּבֹרִית, וְאֶתְפַּלְּלָה אֶל אֵל עַרְבִית וְשַׁחֲרִית, מוּסַף וְגַם מִנְחָה הוּא יַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ אוֹת הִיא לְעֽוֹלְמֵי עַד בֵּינוֹ וּבֵינִי׃

meḥel mĕlaʾkha bo sofo lĕhakhrith, 'al ken ʾăkhabbes bo libbi kĕvorith, wĕʾethpallĕla ʾel ʾel 'arvith wĕshaḥărith, musaf wĕgham minḥa huʾ ya'ăneni ʾoth hiʾ lĕ'olĕme 'adh beno uveni

Whoever begins work on it will in the end be cut off; therefore I will cleanse my heart on it like soap, and I will pray to God evening and morning, and at Musaf and at Mincha too He will answer me. It is a sign forever between Him and me.
