בֶּן אָדָם, מַה לְּךָ נִרְדָּם, קוּם קְרָא בְּתַחֲנוּנִים. שְׁפֹךְ שִׂיחָה, דְּרֹשׁ סְלִיחָה, מֵאֲדוֹן הָאֲדוֹנִים. רְחַץ וּטְהַר, וְאַל תְּאַחַר, בְּטֶרֶם יָמִים פּוֹנִים. וּמְהֵרָה, רוּץ לְעֶזְרָה, לִפְנֵי שׁוֹכֵן מְעוֹנִים. וּמִפֶּשַׁע, וְגַם רֶשַׁע, בְּרַח וּפְחַד מֵאֲסוֹנִים. אָנָּא שְׁעֵה, שִׁמְךָ יוֹדְעֵי, יִשְׂרָאֵל נֶאֱמָנִים. לְךָ אֲדֹנָי הַצְּדָקָה. וְלָנוּ בֹּשֶׁת הַפָּנִים׃ עֲמֹד כְּגֶבֶר, וְהִתְגַּבֵּר, לְהִתְוַדּוֹת עַל חֲטָאִים. יָהּ אֵל דְּרֹשׁ, בְּכֹבֶד רֹאשׁ, לְכַפֵּר עַל פְּשָׁעִים. כִּי לְעוֹלָם, לֹא נֶעְלָם, מִמֶּנּוּ נִפְלָאִים. וְכָל מַאֲמָר, אֲשֶׁר יֵאָמַר, לְפָנָיו הֵם נִקְרָאִים. הַמְּרַחֵם, הוּא יְרַחֵם, עָלֵינוּ כְּרַחֵם אָב עַל בָּנִים׃

ben ʾadham, mah lĕkha nirdam, qum qĕraʾ bĕthaḥănunim. shĕfokh siḥa, dĕrosh sĕliḥa, meʾădhon haʾădhonim. rĕḥaṣ uṭĕhar, wĕʾal tĕʾaḥar, bĕṭerem yamim ponim. umĕhera, ruṣ lĕ'ezra, lifne shokhen mĕ'onim. umippesha', wĕgham resha', bĕraḥ ufĕḥadh meʾăsonim. ʾannaʾ shĕ'eh, shimkha yodhĕ'e, yisraʾel neʾĕmanim. lĕkha ʾădhonay haṣṣĕdhaqa. wĕlanu bosheth happanim 'ămodh kĕghever, wĕhithgabber, lĕhithwaddoth 'al ḥăṭaʾim. yah ʾel dĕrosh, bĕkhovedh roʾsh, lĕkhapper 'al pĕsha'im. ki lĕ'olam, loʾ ne'lam, mimmennu niflaʾim. wĕkhol maʾămar, ʾăsher yeʾamar, lĕfanayw hem niqraʾim. hammĕraḥem, huʾ yĕraḥem, 'alenu kĕraḥem ʾav 'al banim

O man, why do you sleep? Rise and cry out in supplication. Pour out your speech, seek forgiveness, from the Master of masters. Wash and purify yourself, and do not delay, before the days turn away. And hurry, run for help, before the One who dwells in lofty abodes. And from transgression and also wickedness, flee and fear calamities. Please, attend — Your name is known by the faithful of Israel. Righteousness is Yours, Adonay, and shame of face is ours: Stand firm as a man, and strengthen yourself, to confess your sins. God, seek with a grave demeanor to atone for transgressions. For nothing is ever hidden from Him, wonders included. And every word that is spoken is read out before Him. May the Merciful One have mercy upon us, as a father has mercy upon his children.

לְמַעַנְךָ אֱלֹהַי. רְצֵה עַם לְךָ שִׁחַר. לְחַלּוֹת פָּנֶיךָ. בְּמַעֲמַד הַשַּׁחַר. אֲדֹנָי הַקְשִׁיבָה וַעֲשֵׂה אַל תְּאַחַר׃

lĕma'ankha ʾĕlohay. rĕṣeh 'am lĕkha shiḥar. lĕḥalloth panekha. bĕma'ămadh hashshaḥar. ʾădhonay haqshiva wa'ăseh ʾal tĕʾaḥar

For Your sake, my God, favor the people that seeks You out, to entreat Your presence at the watch of morning. Adonay, listen and act; do not delay.

לְמַעַנְךָ אֱלֹהַי. דְּלֵה מִמְּצֻלוֹת יָם. שְׂבֵעֵי רוֹשׁ וְלַעַן. בְּבֵית נוֹדָם וְשִׁבְיָם. וְשׁוּר לַחְצָם וְעָנְיָם. וְאַל תֵּפֶן לְמֶרְיָם. וְהַט אֹזֶן לְשַׁוְעָם. בִּתְפִלַּת הַשַּׁחַר׃ אֲדֹנָי הַקְשִׁיבָה וַעֲשֵׂה אַל תְּאַחַר׃

lĕma'ankha ʾĕlohay. dĕleh mimmĕṣuloth yam. sĕve'e rosh wĕla'an. bĕveth nodham wĕshivyam. wĕshur laḥṣam wĕ'onyam. wĕʾal tefen lĕmeryam. wĕhaṭ ʾozen lĕshaw'am. bithfillath hashshaḥar ʾădhonay haqshiva wa'ăseh ʾal tĕʾaḥar

For Your sake, my God, draw up from the depths of the sea those sated with wormwood and gall, in the house of their wandering and captivity. Look upon their oppression and affliction, and do not turn to their rebelliousness; incline Your ear to their cry, in the morning prayer. Adonay, listen and act; do not delay.

לְמַעַנְךָ אֱלֹהַי. וַעֲשֵׂה לְטוֹבָה אוֹת. וְחוֹן נְפָשׁוֹת עֲצוּבוֹת. לְמֵי יֶשַׁע צְמֵאוֹת. וְקַבֵּץ נִדָּחִים. פְּזוּרִים בְּכָל פֵּאוֹת. אֲשֶׁר מֵרֹב תְּלָאוֹת. עוֹרָם מְאֹד שָׁחַר׃ אֲדֹנָי הַקְשִׁיבָה וַעֲשֵׂה אַל תְּאַחַר׃

lĕma'ankha ʾĕlohay. wa'ăseh lĕṭova ʾoth. wĕḥon nĕfashoth 'ăṣuvoth. lĕme yesha' ṣĕmeʾoth. wĕqabbeṣ niddaḥim. pĕzurim bĕkhol peʾoth. ʾăsher merov tĕlaʾoth. 'oram mĕʾodh shaḥar ʾădhonay haqshiva wa'ăseh ʾal tĕʾaḥar

For Your sake, my God, work a sign for good, and be gracious to sorrowful souls thirsting for the waters of salvation. Gather the scattered, dispersed to every corner, whose skin, from so many hardships, has grown very dark. Adonay, listen and act; do not delay.

לְמַעַנְךָ אֱלֹהַי. יֶהֱמוּ רַחֲמֶיךָ. וּמִמְּעוֹן שָׁמֶיךָ. שְׁמַע קוֹל עַמֶּךָ. סוֹבְלֵי אַפְּךָ. קִצְפְּךָ וְזַעֲמֶךָ. וּמִנְּשׂוֹא אֵימֶיךָ. לִבָּם מְאֹד סְחַרְחַר׃ אֲדֹנָי הַקְשִׁיבָה וַעֲשֵׂה אַל תְּאַחַר׃

lĕma'ankha ʾĕlohay. yehĕmu raḥămekha. umimmĕ'on shamekha. shĕma' qol 'ammekha. sovĕle ʾappĕkha. qiṣpĕkha wĕza'ămekha. uminnĕsoʾ ʾemekha. libbam mĕʾodh sĕḥarḥar ʾădhonay haqshiva wa'ăseh ʾal tĕʾaḥar

For Your sake, my God, let Your mercies stir, and from Your heavenly dwelling hear the voice of Your people, who bear Your anger, Your wrath, and Your fury; from bearing Your terrors their hearts are utterly disturbed. Adonay, listen and act; do not delay.

לְמַעַנְךָ אֱלֹהַי. דַּלֶּיךָ תְּרַחֵם. וְשַׂמְּחֵם מִיגוֹנָם. וּבַעֲצָתְךָ תַנְחֵם. וְהַפְלֵא חֲסָדֶיךָ. וְחוּסָה נָּא וְרַחֵם. עֲמוּסִים מִבֶּטֶן וּמֵרֶחֶם מִשְׁחָר׃ אֲדֹנָי הַקְשִׁיבָה וַעֲשֵׂה אַל תְּאַחַר׃

lĕma'ankha ʾĕlohay. dallekha tĕraḥem. wĕsammĕḥem mighonam. uva'ăṣathĕkha thanḥem. wĕhafleʾ ḥăsadhekha. wĕḥusa naʾ wĕraḥem. 'ămusim mibbeṭen umereḥem mishḥar ʾădhonay haqshiva wa'ăseh ʾal tĕʾaḥar

For Your sake, my God, have mercy on Your poor, gladden them from their sorrow, and guide them with Your counsel; work Your wonders of kindness, and please have compassion on those borne from the womb, carried from birth. Adonay, listen and act; do not delay.

אֵל מֶלֶךְ יוֹשֵׁב עַל כִּסֵּא רַחֲמִים וּמִתְנַהֵג בַּחֲסִידוּת. מוֹחֵל עֲוֹנוֹת עַמּוֹ מַעֲבִיר רִאשׁוֹן רִאשׁוֹן. מַרְבֶּה מְחִילָה לַחַטָּאִים. וּסְלִיחָה לַפּוֹשְׁעִים. עוֹשֶׂה צְדָקוֹת עִם כָּל בָּשָׂר וְרוּחַ. לֹא כְרָעָתָם לָהֶם גּוֹמֵל. אֵל הוֹרֵתָנוּ לוֹמַר מִדּוֹת שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה. זְכֹר לָנוּ הַיּוֹם בְּרִית שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה. כְּמוֹ שֶׁהוֹדַעְתָּ לֶעָנָו מִקֶּדֶם. וְכֵן כָּתוּב בְּתוֹרָתָךְ׃

ʾel melekh yoshev 'al kisseʾ raḥămim umithnahegh baḥăsidhuth. moḥel 'ăwonoth 'ammo ma'ăvir riʾshon riʾshon. marbeh mĕḥila laḥaṭṭaʾim. usĕliḥa lapposhĕ'im. 'oseh ṣĕdhaqoth 'īm kol basar wĕruaḥ. loʾ khĕra'atham lahem gomel. ʾel horethanu lomar middoth shĕlosh 'esreh. zĕkhor lanu hayyom bĕrith shĕlosh 'esreh. kĕmo shehodha'ta le'anaw miqqedhem. wĕkhen kathuv bĕthorathakh

God, King, who sits upon a throne of mercy and acts with loving-kindness; who pardons the sins of His people, removing them one by one; who grants abundant pardon to sinners and forgiveness to transgressors; who deals righteously with all flesh and spirit, not repaying them according to their evil. God! You taught us to recite the Thirteen Attributes; remember for us today the covenant of the Thirteen Attributes, as You made known to the humble one of old, as it is written in Your Torah:

וַיֵּ֤רֶד יְיָ֙ בֶּֽעָנָ֔ן וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֥ב עִמּ֖וֹ שָׁ֑ם וַיִּקְרָ֥א בְשֵׁ֖ם יְיָ וַיַּעֲבֹ֨ר יְיָ֥ ׀ עַל־פָּנָיו֮ וַיִּקְרָא֒ יְיָ֣ ׀ יְיָ֔ אֵ֥ל רַח֖וּם וְחַנּ֑וּן אֶ֥רֶךְ אַפַּ֖יִם וְרַב־חֶ֥סֶד וֶאֱמֶֽת׃ נֹצֵ֥ר חֶ֙סֶד֙ לָאֲלָפִ֔ים נֹשֵׂ֥א עָוֺ֛ן וָפֶ֖שַׁע וְחַטָּאָ֑ה וְנַקֵּה֙׃

wayyeredh Adonay be'anan wayyithyaṣṣev 'immo sham wayyiqraʾ vĕshem Adonay wayya'ăvor Adonay 'al-fanayw wayyiqraʾ Adonay Adonay ʾel raḥum wĕḥannun ʾerekh ʾappayim wĕrav-ḥesedh weʾĕmeth noṣer ḥesedh laʾălafim noseʾ 'awon wafesha' wĕḥaṭṭaʾa wĕnaqqeh

And Adonay descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Adonay. And Adonay passed before him and proclaimed: Adonay, Adonay, God, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness and truth; keeping kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin, and pardoning.

וְסָלַחְתָּ לַעֲוֹנֵנוּ וּלְחַטָּאתֵנוּ וּנְחַלְתָּנוּ׃

wĕsalaḥta la'ăwonenu ulĕḥaṭṭaʾthenu unĕḥaltanu

And You shall forgive our iniquity and our sin, and take us for Your own.

אֶרְאֵלֵי מַעְלָה. אוֹמְרִים יְיָ אֲדוֹנֵנוּ. בְּחִירֵי סְגֻלָּה. עוֹנִים וְאוֹמְרִים. יְיָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים. יְיָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים׃

ʾerʾele ma'la. ʾomĕrim Adonay ʾădhonenu. bĕḥire sĕghulla. 'onim wĕʾomĕrim. Adonay huʾ haʾĕlohim. Adonay huʾ haʾĕlohim

The angels above say: Adonay is our Lord. The chosen treasured ones answer and say: Adonay, He is God; Adonay, He is God.

גַּלְגַּלֵּי מַעְלָה. אוֹמְרִים יְיָ אֲדוֹנֵנוּ. דְּגוּלֵי סְגֻלָּה. עוֹנִים וְאוֹמְרִים. יְיָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים. יְיָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים׃

galgalle ma'la. ʾomĕrim Adonay ʾădhonenu. dĕghule sĕghulla. 'onim wĕʾomĕrim. Adonay huʾ haʾĕlohim. Adonay huʾ haʾĕlohim

The heavenly spheres say: Adonay is our Lord. The bannered treasured ones answer and say: Adonay, He is God; Adonay, He is God.

הֲמוֹנֵי מַעְלָה. אוֹמְרִים יְיָ אֲדוֹנֵנוּ. יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּצָרָתָם וּבְגָלוּתָם עוֹנִים וְאוֹמְרִים. יְיָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים. יְיָ הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים׃

hămone ma'la. ʾomĕrim Adonay ʾădhonenu. yisraʾel bĕṣaratham uvĕghalutham 'onim wĕʾomĕrim. Adonay huʾ haʾĕlohim. Adonay huʾ haʾĕlohim

The multitudes above say: Adonay is our Lord. Israel, in their distress and their exile, answer and say: Adonay, He is God; Adonay, He is God.

יְיָ מֶלֶךְ, יְיָ מָלָךְ יְיָ יִמְלֹךְ לְעֹלָם וָעֶד׃ (פעמיים)

Adonay melekh, Adonay malakh Adonay yimlokh lĕ'olam wa'edh (f'myym)

Adonay reigns; Adonay has reigned; Adonay will reign forever and ever. (twice)

בְּטֶרֶם שְׁחָקִים וַאֲרָקִים נִמְתָּחוּ, יְיָ מֶלֶךְ. וְעַד לֹא מְאוֹרוֹת זָרָחוּ, יְיָ מָלָךְ. וְהָאָרֶץ כַּבֶּגֶד תִּבְלֶה, וְשָׁמַיִם כְּעָשָׁן נִמְלָחוּ, יְיָ יִמְלֹךְ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃ יְיָ מֶלֶךְ, יְיָ מָלָךְ, יְיָ יִמְלֹךְ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃

bĕṭerem shĕḥaqim waʾăraqim nimtaḥu, Adonay melekh. wĕ'adh loʾ mĕʾoroth zaraḥu, Adonay malakh. wĕhaʾareṣ kabbeghedh tivleh, wĕshamayīm kĕ'ashan nimlaḥu, Adonay yimlokh lĕ'olam wa'edh Adonay melekh, Adonay malakh, Adonay yimlokh lĕ'olam wa'edh

Before the heavens and skies were stretched out — Adonay reigns. And before the lights had shone — Adonay has reigned. The earth shall wear out like a garment, and the heavens shall be rolled away like smoke — Adonay will reign forever and ever. Adonay reigns; Adonay has reigned; Adonay will reign forever and ever.

וְעַד לֹא עָשָׂה אֶרֶץ וְחוּצוֹת, יְיָ מֶלֶךְ. וּבַהֲכִינוֹ יְצוּרִים עֲלֵי אֲרָצוֹת, יְיָ מָלָךְ. וְעֵת יְקַבֵּץ נְפוּצִים מֵאַרְבַּע תְּפוּצוֹת, יְיָ יִמְלֹךְ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃ יְיָ מֶלֶךְ, יְיָ מָלָךְ, יְיָ יִמְלֹךְ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃

wĕ'adh loʾ 'asa ʾereṣ wĕḥuṣoth, Adonay melekh. uvahăkhino yĕṣurim 'ăle ʾăraṣoth, Adonay malakh. wĕ'eth yĕqabbeṣ nĕfuṣim meʾarba' tĕfuṣoth, Adonay yimlokh lĕ'olam wa'edh Adonay melekh, Adonay malakh, Adonay yimlokh lĕ'olam wa'edh

And before He made land and open places — Adonay reigns. And when He established creatures upon the lands — Adonay has reigned. And when He gathers the scattered from the four corners of dispersion — Adonay will reign forever and ever. Adonay reigns; Adonay has reigned; Adonay will reign forever and ever.

אֱלֹהֵינוּ שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם שְׁמַע קוֹלֵנוּ וְקַבֵּל תְּפִלָּתֵנוּ בְּרָצוֹן׃ (אמן) אֱלֹהֵינוּ שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם אַל תְּאַבְּדֵנוּ בְּאֹרֶךְ גָּלוּתֵנוּ׃ (אמן)

ʾĕlohenu shebbashshamayīm shĕma' qolenu wĕqabbel tĕfillathenu bĕraṣon (ʾmn) ʾĕlohenu shebbashshamayīm ʾal tĕʾabbĕdhenu bĕʾorekh galuthenu (ʾmn)

Our God who is in heaven, hear our voice and accept our prayer willingly. (Amen) Our God who is in heaven, do not let us perish through the length of our exile. (Amen)

אֱלֹהֵינוּ שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם עֲשֵׂה עִמָּנוּ אוֹת לְטוֹבָה. עֲשֵׂה עִמָּנוּ אוֹת לִישׁוּעָה. עֲשֵׂה עִמָּנוּ אוֹת לְרַחֲמִים. יִרְאוּ שׂוֹנְאֵינוּ וְיֵבֹשׁוּ. יֶחֱזוּ אוֹיְבֵינוּ וְיִכָּלְמוּ. כִּי אַתָּה יְיָ עֲזַרְתָּנוּ וְנִחַמְתָּנוּ׃

ʾĕlohenu shebbashshamayīm 'ăseh 'immanu ʾoth lĕṭova. 'ăseh 'immanu ʾoth lishu'a. 'ăseh 'immanu ʾoth lĕraḥămim. yirʾu sonĕʾenu wĕyevoshu. yeḥĕzu ʾoyĕvenu wĕyikkalĕmu. ki ʾatta Adonay 'ăzartanu wĕniḥamtanu

Our God who is in heaven, work with us a sign for good. Work with us a sign for salvation. Work with us a sign for mercy. Let those who hate us see and be ashamed; let our enemies behold and be humiliated — for You, Adonay, have helped us and comforted us.

עֲנֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ וּפַחַד יִצְחָק עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ אֲבִיר יַעֲקֹב עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ מָגֵן דָּוִד עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ הָעוֹנֶה בְּעֵת רָצוֹן עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ הָעוֹנֶה בְּעֵת צָרָה עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ הָעוֹנֶה בְּעֵת רַחֲמִים עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי הַמֶּרְכָּבָה עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ אֱלָהָא דְמֵאִיר עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ בִּזְכוּתֵהּ דְבַר־יוֹחַאי עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ מִשְׂגַּב הָאִמָּהוֹת עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ עֶזְרַת הַשְּׁבָטִים עֲנֵנוּ׃ עֲנֵנוּ רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן עֲנֵנוּ׃

Answer us, God of Abraham, answer us. Answer us, Dread of Isaac, answer us. Answer us, Mighty One of Jacob, answer us. Answer us, Shield of David, answer us. Answer us, You who answer in a time of favor, answer us. Answer us, You who answer in a time of distress, answer us. Answer us, You who answer in a time of mercy, answer us. Answer us, God of the Chariot, answer us. Answer us, God of Meir, answer us. Answer us, for the sake of bar Yochai, answer us. Answer us, Stronghold of the Matriarchs, answer us. אֲדוֹן הַסְּלִיחוֹת. בּוֹחֵן לְבָבוֹת. גּוֹלֶה עֲמֻקּוֹת. דּוֹבֵר צְדָקוֹת. חָטָאנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ׃ הָדוּר בְּנִפְלָאוֹת. וָתִיק בְּנֶחָמוֹת. זוֹכֵר בְּרִית אָבוֹת. חוֹקֵר כְּלָיוֹת׃ חָטָאנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ׃ טוֹב וּמֵטִיב לַבְּרִיּוֹת. יוֹדֵעַ כָּל נִסְתָּרוֹת. כּוֹבֵשׁ עֲוֹנוֹת. לוֹבֵשׁ צְדָקוֹת׃ חָטָאנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ׃ מָלֵא זַכִּיּוּת. נוֹרָא תְהִלּוֹת. סוֹלֵחַ עֲוֹנוֹת. עוֹנֶה בְּעֵת צָרוֹת׃ חָטָאנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ׃ פּוֹעֵל יְשׁוּעוֹת. צוֹפֶה עֲתִידוֹת. קוֹרֵא הַדּוֹרוֹת. רוֹכֵב עֲרָבוֹת. שׁוֹמֵעַ תְּפִלּוֹת. תְּמִים דֵּעוֹת׃ חָטָאנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ רַחֵם עָלֵינוּ׃

Master of forgiveness, Examiner of hearts, Revealer of depths, Speaker of righteousness — we have sinned before You, have mercy upon us. Glorious in wonders, Faithful in consolations, Rememberer of the covenant of the fathers, Searcher of the innermost being — we have sinned before You, have mercy upon us. Good and doing good to creatures, Knower of all hidden things, Subduer of iniquities, Clothed in righteousness — we have sinned before You, have mercy upon us. Full of merit, Awesome in praises, Forgiver of iniquities, Answerer in times of distress — we have sinned before You, have mercy upon us. Worker of salvations, Foreseer of the future, Caller of the generations, Rider of the heavens, Hearer of prayers, Perfect in knowledge — we have sinned before You, have mercy upon us.

אֵל רַחוּם שִׁמְךָ. אֵל חַנּוּן שִׁמְךָ. אֵל אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם שִׁמְךָ. מָלֵא רַחֲמִים שִׁמְךָ. בָּנוּ נִקְרָא שִׁמְךָ. יְיָ עֲשֵׂה לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ׃

ʾel raḥum shimkha. ʾel ḥannun shimkha. ʾel ʾerekh ʾappayīm shimkha. maleʾ raḥămim shimkha. banu niqraʾ shimkha. Adonay 'ăseh lĕma'an shĕmekha

Merciful is Your name. Gracious is Your name. Slow to anger is Your name. Full of mercy is Your name. By You we are called. Adonay, act for Your name's sake.

יָהּ שְׁמַע אֶבְיוֹנֶיךָ. הַמְחַלִּים פָּנֶיךָ. אָבִינוּ לְבָנֶיךָ. אַל תַּעְלֵם אָזְנֶיךָ׃

yah shĕma' ʾevyonekha. hamĕḥallim panekha. ʾavinu lĕvanekha. ʾal ta'lem ʾoznekha

Yah, hear Your needy ones, who entreat Your presence. Our Father, to Your children — do not hide Your ears.

יָהּ עַם מִמַּעֲמַקִּים. יִקְרְאוּ מֵרֹב מְצוּקִים. אַל נָא תְשִׁיבֵם רֵקִים. הַיּוֹם מִלְּפָנֶיךָ׃

yah 'am mimma'ămaqqim. yiqrĕʾu merov mĕṣuqim. ʾal naʾ thĕshivem reqim. hayyom millĕfanekha

Yah, a people from the depths cries out from great distress; please do not turn them away empty today from before You.

הַוּוֹתָם וַעֲוֹנָם. מְחֵה וְרֻבֵּי זְדוֹנָם. וְאִם לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה לְמַעֲנָם. עֲשֵׂה צוּרִי לְמַעֲנֶךָ׃

hawwotham wa'ăwonam. mĕḥeh wĕrubbe zĕdhonam. wĕʾīm loʾ tha'ăseh lĕma'ănam. 'ăseh ṣuri lĕma'ănekha

Their misdeeds and their iniquity, wipe away, and the multitude of their willful sins; and if You will not act for their sake, act, my Rock, for Your own sake.

וּמְחֵה הַיּוֹם חוֹבָם. וּרְצֵה כְּמוֹ שַׁי נִיבָם. וּלְךָ תָּכִין לִבָּם. וְגַם תַּקְשִׁיב אָזְנֶךָ׃

umĕḥeh hayyom ḥovam. urĕṣeh kĕmo shay nivam. ulĕkha takhin libbam. wĕgham taqshiv ʾoznekha

And wipe away today their debt, and accept, as it were, the offering of their lips; and to You prepare their heart, and also incline Your ear.

דִּמְעַת פְּנֵיהֶם תִּשְׁעֶה. וְתֶאֱסֹף עֵדֶר תּוֹעֶה. וְתָקִים לְךָ רוֹעֶה. וּפְקֹד בְּטוֹב צֹאנֶךָ׃

dim'ath pĕnehem tish'eh. wĕtheʾĕsof 'edher to'eh. wĕthaqim lĕkha ro'eh. ufĕqodh bĕṭov ṣoʾnekha

Attend to the tears on their faces, and gather the straying flock, and raise up for Yourself a shepherd, and tend Your flock with goodness.

הוֹלְכֵי בְּדֶרֶךְ נְכוֹחָה. תְּבַשְּׂרֵם הַיּוֹם סְלִיחָה. וּבִתְפִלַּת הַשַּׁחַר. הַמְצִיאֵם חִנֶּךָ׃

holĕkhe bĕdherekh nĕkhoḥa. tĕvassĕrem hayyom sĕliḥa. uvithfillath hashshaḥar. hamĕṣiʾem ḥinnekha

Those who walk on the straight path — announce to them forgiveness today, and in the morning prayer, grant them Your favor.

אֵל מֶלֶךְ יוֹשֵׁב עַל כִּסֵּא רַחֲמִים וּמִתְנַהֵג בַּחֲסִידוּת. מוֹחֵל עֲוֹנוֹת עַמּוֹ מַעֲבִיר רִאשׁוֹן רִאשׁוֹן. מַרְבֶּה מְחִילָה לַחַטָּאִים. וּסְלִיחָה לַפּוֹשְׁעִים. עוֹשֶׂה צְדָקוֹת עִם כָּל בָּשָׂר וְרוּחַ. לֹא כְרָעָתָם לָהֶם גּוֹמֵל. אֵל הוֹרֵתָנוּ לוֹמַר מִדּוֹת שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה. זְכֹר לָנוּ הַיּוֹם בְּרִית שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה. כְּמוֹ שֶׁהוֹדַעְתָּ לֶעָנָו מִקֶּדֶם. וְכֵן כָּתוּב בְּתוֹרָתָךְ׃

ʾel melekh yoshev 'al kisseʾ raḥămim umithnahegh baḥăsidhuth. moḥel 'ăwonoth 'ammo ma'ăvir riʾshon riʾshon. marbeh mĕḥila laḥaṭṭaʾim. usĕliḥa lapposhĕ'im. 'oseh ṣĕdhaqoth 'īm kol basar wĕruaḥ. loʾ khĕra'atham lahem gomel. ʾel horethanu lomar middoth shĕlosh 'esreh. zĕkhor lanu hayyom bĕrith shĕlosh 'esreh. kĕmo shehodha'ta le'anaw miqqedhem. wĕkhen kathuv bĕthorathakh

God, King, who sits upon a throne of mercy and acts with loving-kindness; who pardons the sins of His people, removing them one by one; who grants abundant pardon to sinners and forgiveness to transgressors; who deals righteously with all flesh and spirit, not repaying them according to their evil. God! You taught us to recite the Thirteen Attributes; remember for us today the covenant of the Thirteen Attributes, as You made known to the humble one of old, as it is written in Your Torah:

וַיֵּ֤רֶד יְיָ֙ בֶּֽעָנָ֔ן וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֥ב עִמּ֖וֹ שָׁ֑ם וַיִּקְרָ֥א בְשֵׁ֖ם יְיָ וַיַּעֲבֹ֨ר יְיָ֥ ׀ עַל־פָּנָיו֮ וַיִּקְרָא֒ יְיָ֣ ׀ יְיָ֔ אֵ֥ל רַח֖וּם וְחַנּ֑וּן אֶ֥רֶךְ אַפַּ֖יִם וְרַב־חֶ֥סֶד וֶאֱמֶֽת׃ נֹצֵ֥ר חֶ֙סֶד֙ לָאֲלָפִ֔ים נֹשֵׂ֥א עָוֺ֛ן וָפֶ֖שַׁע וְחַטָּאָ֑ה וְנַקֵּה֙׃

wayyeredh Adonay be'anan wayyithyaṣṣev 'immo sham wayyiqraʾ vĕshem Adonay wayya'ăvor Adonay 'al-fanayw wayyiqraʾ Adonay Adonay ʾel raḥum wĕḥannun ʾerekh ʾappayim wĕrav-ḥesedh weʾĕmeth noṣer ḥesedh laʾălafim noseʾ 'awon wafesha' wĕḥaṭṭaʾa wĕnaqqeh

And Adonay descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Adonay. And Adonay passed before him and proclaimed: Adonay, Adonay, God, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness and truth; keeping kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin, and pardoning.

וְסָלַחְתָּ לַעֲוֹנֵנוּ וּלְחַטָּאתֵנוּ וּנְחַלְתָּנוּ׃

wĕsalaḥta la'ăwonenu ulĕḥaṭṭaʾthenu unĕḥaltanu

And You shall forgive our iniquity and our sin, and take us for Your own.

בְּזָכְרִי עַל מִשְׁכָּבִי, זְדוֹן לִבִּי וַאֲשָׁמָיו. אָקוּמָה וְאָבוֹאָה, אֶל בֵּית אֱלֹהַי וַהֲדוֹמָיו. וָאֹמַר בְּנָשְׂאִי עַיִן, בְּתַחֲנוּנַי אֱלֵי שָׁמָיו. נִפְּלָה נָּא בְּיַד יְיָ כִּי רַבִּים רַחֲמָיו׃

bĕzakhĕri 'al mishkavi, zĕdhon libbi waʾăshamayw. ʾaquma wĕʾavoʾa, ʾel beth ʾĕlohay wahădhomayw. waʾomar bĕnasĕʾi 'ayīn, bĕthaḥănunay ʾĕle shamayw. nippĕla naʾ bĕyadh Adonay ki rabbim raḥămayw

When I remember, upon my bed, the willfulness of my heart and its guilt, I rise and come to the house of my God and His footstool. And I say, lifting my eyes, in my supplications toward the heavens: Let us fall, please, into the hand of Adonay, for His mercies are abundant.

לְךָ אֵלִי צוּר חֵילִי, מְנוּסָתִי בְּצָרָתִי. בְּךָ שִׂבְרִי וְתִקְוָתִי, אֱיָלוּתִי בְּגָלוּתִי. לְךָ כָּל מִשְׁאֲלוֹת לִבִּי, וְנֶגְדְּךָ כָּל תַּאֲוָתִי. פְּדֵה עֶבֶד לְךָ צוֹעֵק, מִיַּד רוֹדָיו וְקָמָיו׃ נִפְּלָה נָּא בְּיַד יְיָ כִּי רַבִּים רַחֲמָיו׃

lĕkha ʾeli ṣur ḥeli, mĕnusathi bĕṣarathi. bĕkha sivri wĕthiqwathi, ʾĕyaluthi bĕghaluthi. lĕkha kol mishʾăloth libbi, wĕneghdĕkha kol taʾăwathi. pĕdheh 'evedh lĕkha ṣo'eq, miyyadh rodhayw wĕqamayw nippĕla naʾ bĕyadh Adonay ki rabbim raḥămayw

To You, my God, Rock of my strength, my refuge in my distress; in You is my hope and my expectation, my strength in my exile. To You belong all the wishes of my heart, and before You all my desire. Redeem the servant who cries out to You, from the hand of those who pursue and rise against him. Let us fall, please, into the hand of Adonay, for His mercies are abundant.

עֲנֵנִי יְיָ עֲנֵנִי, בְּקָרְאִי מִן הַמֵּצַר. וְיִוָּדַע בָּעַמִּים, כִּי יָדְךָ לֹא תִקְצַר. וְאַל תִּבְזֶה עֱנוּת עָנִי, צוֹעֵק מִתִּגְרַת צַר. אֲשֶׁר פְּשָׁעָיו לְךָ מוֹדֶה, וּמִתְוַדֶּה עַל עֲלוּמָיו׃ נִפְּלָה נָּא בְּיַד יְיָ כִּי רַבִּים רַחֲמָיו׃

'ăneni Adonay 'ăneni, bĕqarĕʾi mīn hammeṣar. wĕyiwwadha' ba'ammim, ki yadhĕkha loʾ thiqṣar. wĕʾal tivzeh 'ĕnuth 'ani, ṣo'eq mittighrath ṣar. ʾăsher pĕsha'ayw lĕkha modheh, umithwaddeh 'al 'ălumayw nippĕla naʾ bĕyadh Adonay ki rabbim raḥămayw

Answer me, Adonay, answer me, when I call from the narrow place; and let it be known among the nations that Your hand is not too short. Do not despise the affliction of the poor, crying out from the oppression of the foe — who confesses his transgressions to You and admits his hidden faults. Let us fall, please, into the hand of Adonay, for His mercies are abundant.

מַה יִּתְאוֹנֵן וְיֹאמַר, מַה יְּדַבֵּר וְיִצְטַדָּק. יְצִיר חֹמֶר אֲשֶׁר תָּשׁוּב, גְּוִיָּתוֹ כְּאָבָק דַּק. מַה יִּתֵּן לְךָ הָאָדָם, כִּי יִרְשַׁע וְכִי יִצְדַּק. הֲלֹא מִלָּיו וּמִפְעָלָיו, כְּתוּבִים בְּסֵפֶר יָמָיו׃ נִפְּלָה נָּא בְּיַד יְיָ כִּי רַבִּים רַחֲמָיו׃

mah yithʾonen wĕyoʾmar, mah yĕdhabber wĕyiṣṭaddaq. yĕṣir ḥomer ʾăsher tashuv, gĕwiyyatho kĕʾavaq daq. mah yitten lĕkha haʾadham, ki yirsha' wĕkhi yiṣdaq. hăloʾ millayw umif'alayw, kĕthuvim bĕsefer yamayw nippĕla naʾ bĕyadh Adonay ki rabbim raḥămayw

What shall he complain and say, what shall he speak and justify himself — a creature of clay who shall return, his body like fine dust? What can man give You, whether he does wrong or does right? Are not his words and his deeds all written in the book of his days? Let us fall, please, into the hand of Adonay, for His mercies are abundant.

חֲצוֹת לַיְלָה לְךָ קָמוּ, עֲבָדֶיךָ בְּמַהֲלָלָם. זְכוּת אָבוֹת לָהֶם תִּזְכֹּר, וְאַל תֵּפֶן לְמַעֲלָלָם. קְנֵה עֲדָתְךָ כִּימֵי קֶדֶם, קְדוֹשׁ יַעֲקֹב גֹּאֲלָם. וְהִנָּשֵׂא הָאֵל, עוֹשֶׂה הַשָּׁלוֹם בִּמְרוֹמָיו׃ נִפְּלָה נָּא בְּיַד יְיָ כִּי רַבִּים רַחֲמָיו׃

ḥăṣoth layla lĕkha qamu, 'ăvadhekha bĕmahălalam. zĕkhuth ʾavoth lahem tizkor, wĕʾal tefen lĕma'ălalam. qĕneh 'ădhathĕkha kime qedhem, qĕdhosh ya'ăqov goʾălam. wĕhinnaseʾ haʾel, 'oseh hashshalom bimromayw nippĕla naʾ bĕyadh Adonay ki rabbim raḥămayw

At midnight Your servants rise for You in Your praise; remember for them the merit of the fathers, and do not look upon their misdeeds. Acquire Your congregation as in days of old, Holy One of Jacob, their Redeemer; and exalted is the God who makes peace in His heights. Let us fall, please, into the hand of Adonay, for His mercies are abundant.

שׁוֹמֵר יִשְׂרָאֵל. שְׁמֹר שְׁאֵרִית יִשְׂרָאֵל. וְאַל יֹאבַד יִשְׂרָאֵל. הָאוֹמְרִים בְּכָל יוֹם. שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

shomer yisraʾel. shĕmor shĕʾerith yisraʾel. wĕʾal yoʾvadh yisraʾel. haʾomĕrim bĕkhol yom. shĕma' yisraʾel

Guardian of Israel, guard the remnant of Israel, and let Israel not perish — those who say every day: "Hear, O Israel."

שׁוֹמֵר גּוֹי רַבָּא. שְׁמֹר שְׁאֵרִית גּוֹי רַבָּא. וְאַל יֹאבַד גּוֹי רַבָּא. הָאוֹמְרִים בְּכָל יוֹם. אָמֵן יְהֵא שְׁמֵיהּ רַבָּא׃

shomer goy rabbaʾ. shĕmor shĕʾerith goy rabbaʾ. wĕʾal yoʾvadh goy rabbaʾ. haʾomĕrim bĕkhol yom. ʾamen yĕheʾ shĕmeh rabbaʾ

תֵּעָנוּ וְתֵעָתְרוּ בְּרַחֲמִים מִן הַשָּׁמַיִם. תְּקֻבַּל צַעֲקַתְכֶם. תִּשָּׁמַע תְּפִלַּתְכֶם בְּרָצוֹן. וְיֵעָנֶה קוֹל עֲתִירַתְכֶם. וִיקַיֵּם בָּכֶם מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב: יְיָ אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵכֶם יֹסֵף עֲלֵיכֶם כָּכֶם אֶלֶף פְּעָמִים. וִיבָרֵךְ אֶתְכֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר לָכֶם.

te'anu wĕthe'athĕru bĕraḥămim mīn hashshamayīm. tĕqubbal ṣa'ăqathkhem. tishshama' tĕfillathkhem bĕraṣon. wĕye'aneh qol 'ăthirathkhem. wiqayyem bakhem miqraʾ shekkathuv: Adonay ʾĕlohe ʾăvothekhem yosef 'ălekhem kakhem ʾelef pĕ'amim. wivarekh ʾethkhem kaʾăsher dibber lakhem.

May you be answered and entreated with mercy from heaven; may your cry be accepted, may your prayer be heard with favor, and may the voice of your supplication be answered; and may there be fulfilled in you the verse that is written: "Adonay, the God of your fathers, add to you a thousand times as many as you are, and bless you as He has spoken to you."

וְכֵן יְהִי רָצוֹן וְנֹאמַר אָמֵן׃

wĕkhen yĕhi raṣon wĕnoʾmar ʾamen

So may it be His will, and let us say Amen.

עֹשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם בִּמְרוֹמָיו. הוּא בְּרַחֲמָיו יַעֲשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם עָלֵינוּ וְעַל כָּל עַמּוֹ יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאִמְרוּ אָמֵן׃

'oseh shalom bimromayw. huʾ bĕraḥămayw ya'ăseh shalom 'alenu wĕ'al kol 'ammo yisraʾel wĕʾimru ʾamen

He who makes peace in His heights, may He in His mercy make peace upon us and upon all His people Israel; and let us say Amen.
